In an effort to boost my income and add to my emergency fund, I have been searching for ways to make money online.
I don’t want to spend my precious time wasting it and not making money, so I’ve done some research and spent a few months using these methods successfully. I thought I would share them with you.
As I find more, I’m going to edit this post and include them.
(some of these will have affiliate links and I will earn money if you sign up after using my link. I appreciate it if you do,)
1. Swagbucks – This couldn’t be easier to use. Install the toolbar and start all your Internet searches with it. You’ll earn Swagbucks which are points that can be redeemed for gift cards and prizes. I ALWAYS go for the $5 Amazon Gift Cards. This has been a huge help at Christmas and birthday time. There are other ways to earn Swagbucks as well from doing a simple poll each day to surveys and watching videos.
2. Ebates - Ebates is a site that you go to first before you shop online. You search for the store you are going to buy from, click on the link at Ebates first and it will connect you to the site. You will then earn a percentage of your purchase back in cash. I don’t even shop that much online and I have received over $60 back from Ebates. You can get $5 just for signing up.
3. InboxDollars - Read emails from InboxDollars, click on the link and earn a penny or two. You can also earn money by doing surveys or signing up for offers. Stick to the emails and within a year you could have over $40. I have it waiting for me right now to cash in. You earn $5 just for signing up.
4. Complete Online Surveys – I use Synovate and have earned $15 from them in the past year. There are other companies out there as well. I will add them as I learn more about them.
5. SponsoredTweets – If you have a Twitter account, you could be making money. Once you sign up, advertisers will contact you to tweet out their links and they will pay you to do so. I’ve made over $30 in the past year doing that but I know of someone who makes more than that a month. It’s a great way to monetize your twitter account. Just don’t tweet too many ads, that can be annoying.
Do you know of any other ways to make money online? I’d love to hear about them.

I also blog at A Five Star Life. I write about anything that comes to mind but try to focus on finding the good in daily life.

Great list! I have to add to that – I use Ebates but the one I find that gives me a higher percentage most of the time is Mr. Rebates. I had an issue with a big ticket item on Ebates and it was beyond dramatic trying to get them to credit it. After that issue, I just started using Mr. Rebates more. I’m going to have to check out InBox Dollars

In addition to what I mentioned in the post I have made well over $300 with Swagbucks. That is $300 in Amazon Gift Cards. I could have redeemed my Swagbucks for cash in my Paypal account but it costs more ‘bucks’ to do that. Swagbucks is by far my favorite with Ebates a second.

I’ve made money in the past from a site called MyLikes, not much to speak of though. A few bucks here and there. Also, writing articles has made me some residual money through the Yahoo Contributor Network (formerly called Associated Content). Again, just a few bucks here and there. The residual money is cool though. Articles I wrote a couple of years ago are still getting hits and money shows up in my PayPal account about every 3 months.

MyLikes is similar to SponsoredTweets, correct? I do believe I signed up for it at one point but decided to stick with SponsoredTweets. I had hubpages up for awhile that uses Google Adsense to bring in revenue but I just didn’t want to devote a lot of time to it. I’ll check out Yahoo Contributor Network when I have an idea that I want to write about that doesn’t fit into any of my other writing venues. Thanks Matt.

Great ideas. I will have to see if I can do any of these being that I am a Canadian.

You can definitely do SwagBucks I know that. I think you can do InboxDollars as well. I haven’t looked into the others. Good luck!

I have been making money simply with my blog through AdSense and other advertising. January was the third month in a row that I made just over $1000.

That’s great!! I didn’t include blogging because I’ve had this here blog for almost two years and I haven’t made that much money in total! I only recently started making ad revenue (thanks to Crystal/BITFS) but it’s been a TON of work to get to this point. If I could make $1,000 a month from this blog, I’d be dancing naked through the streets.
