SEO Craziness Linky

January 27, 2012

So I’m having this week where productivity is not my best feature. I have been tooling around with my blog on the back end thanks to my participation in the SITS 31 Days to Building a Better Blog (#SITS31DBBB).

After reading some of the 31 Days to Building a Better Blog book from ProBlogger, I have decided to try a linky. If it goes well, then maybe I’ll have one each week. Today’s is just a silly thing but I think starting next week, if this goes well that we’ll do a Personal Finance theme linky.

So today I give you the SEO Craziness Linky. List the craziest term someone searched to find your blog in the name box and the post it led to in the link box. Then check out some of the other posts that bring out the SEO Craziness!

Mine isn’t that crazy either. Guess that gives us plenty of room to get crazier in our writing. lol

I’m sure there is a good reason for searching “silk scarf + hunting”, but everything I can think of leads to death, not Goodwill. :)

It is actually a good exercise to go into Google Analytics and see for what search terms you got just one hit. Some do not make sense at all. Others do and surprise you.

I have read few threads and article about seo. Basically it is about link building. Can someone give me some list of the sites where you can post links most effectively.

I’m not sure I understand what you mean about posting links most effectively. Seo isn’t just link building but also about attracting traffic by using key search terms in your posts, headings and picture labels. A great quick video from Pat Flynn might help.

So I didn’t do that right the first time! If you can edit Jess, feel free to delete #14!

“people falling off roller coasters” made me laugh when I saw it show up in my stats for sure!

don’t worry about doing it incorrectly Liz, a lot of people didn’t quite get what I meant. Next time it will be easier. I think it’s hilarious that someone found your blog using that term. lol
