Where’s the Debt? (3/26/10)

March 27, 2010

Welcome to the weekend! I, for one am happy to have it here. My wonderful boys have vacated my home for the next nine days, the first five of which I will be cool. The remaining four will find me missing their screams, ruckus and general boy-ness. There is much to be done in the next week and I hope to accomplish it all. However, this week I have failed to accomplish my own challenge. I hope to make a couple of strides tomorrow and have it completed by the end of Monday. I have made agreements with two...

Maintaining a Support System When Life Gets Rough

March 24, 2010

I’m reminded today of a song we use to sing in church. I can remember standing in church looking up at my mom as she sang the words and thinking her voice was so pretty. The song, “Eagles Wings” was one of my favorites back then. The lyrics that always stay in my mind are: ”And He will raise you up on eagle’s wings, Bear you on the breath of dawn, Make you to shine like the sun, And hold you in the palm of His Hand.” I am no longer a religous person and I’m taking a great deal of...

Where’s the Debt? (3/22/10)

March 24, 2010

Just a quick update on my week. Yea it pretty much sucks right now. My support payments did not get deposited as they should have and my checking account is overdrawn. This is, of course, going to cost me even more money. Catching up is going to be so difficult as my phone bill comes due as well as other items that require money. Lesson learned: keep an accurate checking register to avoid over-drawing my account. I am supposed to call my credit card companies to set up some payment arrangements however, I do not have any money to...

I challenge you to a, well a Challenge!

March 21, 2010

General George S. Patton once said “Accept the challenges so that you may feel the exhilaration of victory.” In the spirit of victory, I am extending a challenge to you and to myself. From here on out, I will have a monthly challenge as well as smaller, weekly challenges. Please feel free to post your results in the comments section. During the following week, I will make a post with everyone’s results. Your first challenge is one I have already done but I’m going to take it one step further for myself. For you, I challenge you to find...

My Dearest Skeptic: An Open Letter to All

March 20, 2010

So I’ve had this blog for a week now. A week was just enough time to get a couple of skeptics joining in the fun. I have received a couple of emails and comments that have questioned my decisions and motives. I would like to address those right now. I have not claimed to make smart decisions. I am an impulsive person. I do not think things through when I make decisions. I make those decisions almost solely on my emotions. I will admit that it is not good practice to live this way. I do not feel that...

One Small Step for DebtPrincess…

March 18, 2010

One small step for DebtPrincess, one giant leap for….well, no one. However, I feel just a tad less stress on my shoulders than I did yesterday. All this is thanks to some small steps that I took in the past 24hrs or so. Check out my update below. I wanted to fill you in on a bit of my Debt Reduction Plan. I’m basically doing a pseudo- Dave Ramsey-esque debt reduction plan. I am hoping to pay a small amount on all my credit cards right now while focusing all my extra funds to the card with the smallest...

The Money Train

March 16, 2010

I need money and I need it quickly. Without a car or reliable public transportation in my town, I’m forced to get creative. I’m doing a few things to bring in some extra cash. I thought I would share with all of you. Maybe it would help you bring in some extra money too. First thing I’m doing is donating plasma. This is a great way to earn up to $50 a week and it doesn’t really take a lot of time. You can donate twice a week. You will receive a higher amount on your second donation within...
